British Red Cross Kindness Gifts

Thank you so much to all the wonderful children and their families who donated to
the British Red Cross this year and raised a lovely £84!

They are as follows:-
EYFS/Key Stage 1
George, Ellie-Mae, Wilfred and Dale-Junior

Key Stage 2
Ava B, Jamie, Va’Shaun, Orla, Esther, Louie, Mia, Ebony

I met the KS2 children, and Mrs McCaul met with the KS1 pupils. We looked at the gift options and the children then discussed what gifts they wanted to buy. They decided upon the following:-

KS1

Care in Crisis - This gift helps the Red Cross respond quickly to disasters in the UK and around the world, including conflict, climate emergencies and natural disasters.

KS2

Care in Crisis - This gift helps the Red Cross respond quickly to disasters in the UK and around the world, including conflict, climate emergencies and natural disasters.

Love Reunited - This gift helps the Red Cross to reunite families in the UK who have been separated due to conflict, violence and persecution.

You can find more information about these gifts here.

We had a little bit of money (£4) left after buying these gifts and the children were happy to donate to our PFA, as we couldn’t make a donation at British Red Cross if it wasn’t a multiple of 5 or 10!

These children would like to wish everyone in the Longroyde community a Merry Christmas, as their donations were in lieu of buying Christmas cards and gifts. The e-cards that we bought will be sent to all classes on December 1st.

It was, as ever, an absolute pleasure to run this initiative and listen to our children discussing sincerely and wisely how to spend their money. I am so proud of them. They truly do embody our school values. Thank you also to the office staff who collected the donations.

Have a happy and safe Christmas and holiday period everyone.

Yours sincerely

Miss D Parry, Headteacher
