Message from Mr R.J.Fox, Executive Head
Welcome to Longroyde Primary School’s website; I hope you find it a useful source of key information.
Choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decision a parent makes. As a parent of two boys, one of whom went to Longroyde, I know this personally. I became Headteacher in 2004 with a mission to provide the very best education for every child and since then, we have created a nurturing environment where every child, regardless of their strengths or weaknesses, can thrive. I am motivated by a desire to create a school parents can be proud to send their children to. The school community is one I love and am proud to serve.
Inclusivity is at the heart of what we do and one of the reasons parents travel long distances to bring their children to us. We understand that not every child is the same and so our curriculum aims to enrich their lives with a strong focus on core skills but also, the opportunity to learn musical instruments, play in bands, sing in choirs, play a variety of sports through our extensive PE programme and take part in productions and residential visits. Take a look at our gallery of pictures to see what we have achieved recently.
Academic progress has been recognised by our latest Ofsted inspection and the year on year rise in attainment scores. Our staff are long-serving, experienced and dedicated; whether they work in our 2-year-old provision (Little Longroyde), our Nursery helping children to start education, or as they are about to transition to their high schools in Year 6. Staff regardless of their roles in school are committed to helping your child grow and develop.
Over the years, we have developed our buildings and grounds to serve our aims of widening children's experiences; we now boast two libraries, a dedicated music room, ICT Suite and DT/Art Suite. We also provide two out of school clubs and food is cooked on site at our Field Top Road kitchen. We make our split site work for us as it enables us to focus equipment and provision at different age ranges. It also allows us to transition from an infant setting to a junior setting whilst remaining in the same school with the same uniform, rules etc.
Longroyde is a school you need to visit in person if you are to appreciate all it has to offer. I would usually strongly urge you to make an appointment to look around or visit us on our open evening which is held in the autumn term. More details on the dates and times of this will be advertised on our web site soon.
I look forward to welcoming you to our school,
Mr R.J.Fox (Executive Headteacher)
Longroyde School has a great team of teachers. I have always found them all very approachable, kind and helpful. Mr Fox stands on the gates every day and welcomes parents and children to school. All my children have attended Longroyde, my oldest been 21, 14 and my youngest 6 and I have never had any problems with the school. They have all had nothing but a great experience at school and I cannot recommend this school enough.
